How lucky was I that I had a handful of photo sessions booked for when the ice storm was going to hit! At first when I heard we were getting this crazy storm, I thought I would have to reschedule all of my planned shoots. I was only visiting Ontario for a couple of weeks… it would be impossible to find the time to get everyone in!
This storm left the most beautiful aftermath I had ever seen. Every tree branch was covered in an inch of sparkly ice and when the sun came out it made everything look as if it were made of crystals. The roads were slippery and there were trees falling over left, right and center, but if my clients were up for an adventure, so was I! As long as we took it slow and didn’t get too close to the big drooping trees that were about to tumble over, we would all be okay and at the end of the day, my clients would have some awesome photos.
Jenna and Steve wanted to head out to a family farm in Orono to have their engagement photos taken. It was a beautiful scene… Old, rustic barns, acres of snow covered hills and a beautiful couple who were so in love with each other. The chill in the air had no bearing on them warming up to the camera. They ignored the cold and embraced the love that they shared. They had a special request that we shoot a baby announcement photo as they are expecting next summer!!
I am so happy for the two of you. The next few years are going to bring so many great things. A baby and a marriage! What more can you ask for?! I know your wedding is a ways away, but that doesn’t stop me from getting excited to shoot it!
