I thought the biggest “blow me away” moment that cool spring day would have been seeing Troy in his scarlet red suit for the first time, little did I know there were more surprises to come. When I saw Samantha pull up in the limo wearing her Morilee wedding gown, my jaw literally dropped. I couldn’t wait for the moment when her nervously waiting groom got to see her. Mason, even had to catch his breath after seeing his mom walking down the aisle.
After a short but very sweet ceremony, close family and friends made their way to Piper’s Lagoon where we shot some must-have formals. Sam and Troy wanted to wrap up poses with the bridal party down at one of Nanaimo’s most popular places, Swy-A-Lana Lagoon Park. We were a bit thrown off guard to find the park packed with a ton of prom goers. Luckily for me, the bridal party couldn’t have been more patient and understanding and in the end of it all, we managed to get some awesome, non-traditional shots….exactly the kind Sam and Troy were after!
After spending the day with these newly weds, I have realized why Sam never stops smiling. She’s got three beautiful children and a husband with a hilarious sense of humour, that could make her laugh no matter what life may bring her. All the best, Mr. and Mrs. Langley. It was a pleasure photographing one of the most important days of your life for you.
