With spring right around the corner, I thought it was fitting to finally share our “Wildest Dreams” inspired shoot that it was published in West Coast Weddings Magazine and was featured on their online blog.
Bright blue skies and rolling purple fields created the perfect backdrop for our ‘Lavender Dreams’ styled shoot; captured by Kristen Borelli Photography, and planned by White Willow Event Management. Inspired by the grandeur of TSwift’s ‘Wildest Dreams’ music video, our team was mesmerized by the video’s stunning landscapes, flowing gowns, and vintage Hollywood glamour.
With the help of Bliss Gowns & Events, our hopes of using a luxurious dress came to life with a stunning number by Maggie Sottero. The look was complete with a cathedral veil that floated on air. Delicate, handcrafted amethyst and gold jewelry from Old Crow Jewelry Boutique, hair & makeup from the talented crew at Heartwood & Co., and a bold blue suit from Jim’s Clothes Closet completed our couple’s look.
Our search for the perfect backdrop came by the way of Damali Lavender & Winery, located in the Cobble Hill area of beautiful Vancouver Island. The location had us dreaming of florals that were garden inspired, lush and pastel in colour. Raspberry Flowers designed the show-stopping florals, which included café roses, white scabiosa, white sweet pea and purple lisianthus. Her unique cloche centerpiece design added the perfect touch to our couple’s intimate sweetheart table.
Inspired by the French countryside, Darling Vintage Event Rentals & Styling built her romantic tablescape design around a striking custom-made French blue tablecloth. Pale grey accents, subtle touches of purple and champagne, delicate clematis vines, and heaps of lustrous glass were added to enhance the look. Various tones of blue were then carried throughout the shoot to pop against the lavender, including a tufted teal chair and pale blue hand-died silk ribbon. A delicate floral printed menu and stylish invitation suite from Tickle Tree Design Studio accented the décor perfectly.
Warm evening sunshine provided the perfect back light to our shoot as the night drew near, highlighting the stunning details each vendor worked so hard to create. In the end, a celebratory glass of Damali’s award-winning lavender-infused wine concluded a shoot that definitely exceeded our wildest dreams! (Written by Ashley Kay of White Willow Management).
